Catherine and Jade
I have always had a passion for art and animals, and have combined these passions in my art.
I have taken many art courses and have studied with Jerry Jessop of Kelowna, B.C., Debbie Smith and Eva Lewarne, both of Toronto.
My subjects include horses and pets after a lifetime of being involved with them as a photographer and animal owner. I also do landscapes.
I work in oils, watercolour, pen and ink and mixed media.
I appreciate all equine disciplines and breeds and try to depict them with a painterly energy and expressiveness. Painting is a natural extension of my desire to observe and be around animals and horses.
I have had my work accepted into the prestigious American Academy of Equine Art Fall Show in 1998 and the Harness Tracks of America Art Auction in 2000. I have shown my work at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto and had a very successful one woman show in 2006, and have done a number of commissioned paintings of pets and horses.
I studied Sign Design and Production at George Brown College in Toronto and worked as a sign artist for many years.
